- On the Animal Farm movie… Reminded of the movie adaptation of “The Free State of Jones.” STFW to look at some of the reviews. I read the book before the movie was even a thought. (My mom is from Jones Co….) I haven’t watched it, mainly because it purports to have Newt Knight as some sort of white savior. It couldn’t be that when everybody’s poor AF, distinctions about heritage, racial, cultural, whatever, fucking disappear. Same thing happens in places like the military. Hollywood gets more removed from this every single day. I heard an interview with Cheryl Hinds talking about her roots as @FloridaWoman__. The folks around her had no idea how to deal with it. Same thing for Sydney Sweeney. The chick from Spokane isn’t a leftist?
