@John_Odermatt The stem cell stuff is interesting. I'm not sure I buy all of his math, but it's of particular interest to me. One of the treatment paths for my condition is destroying the malfunctioning immune system (by modern drugs in the US, by chemotherapy in the UK NHS, or via other modern methods in Soviet Canuckistan), and infusing stem cells to repair the damaged myelin. After some promising results early on with a patient's own stem cells (from bone marrow), they weren't really reproducible.
FWIW, the Israelis tried using embryonic stem cells (so from other people...). I think a couple of people died of leukemia as a result....
